At a rally in Malava, Kakamega County, on January 28, Ford-Kenya leader Moses Wetangula explained that he used to support former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, but Mr. Odinga had “stabbed him in the back.”
Wetangula alleged that his Amani National Congress (ANC) counterpart, Musalia Mudavadi, was also betrayed by Raila.
Wetangula said Raila, who currently is the African Union High Representative for Infrastructure and Development, had pushed them into joining Ruto’s camp because he mistreated, misused, and neglected them.
“Since the handshake, which Luhya has he (Raila) picked and given a Cabinet post? Which Luhya has he picked as an ambassador? Which road project has he launched here? Has he built a port here like in Kisumu?” the Bungoma Senator posed.
Wetangula said that he and Mudavadi had decided to work with the DP, and would not look back. He said the union with Ruto unveiled on January 23 at the Bomas of Kenya was just the start of their collaboration.
“When Musalia promised an earthquake, others thought that it would bring down big houses. No! It was meant to break weak hearts in politics.
“Atwoli is ageing. In our community, someone of his age should guide people and not take the government’s money to buy people,” he added.
