The government has extended the ban on all extra-curricular activities for another 60 days in its unending efforts to curb the spread of covid19 as schools await re-opening on Monday.
Besides, special school days like the prize giving days, or visits between schools has also been banned. Moreover, all non-essential school visits by parents or guardians have also been prohibited unless under very exceptional instances where the visitors will be subjected to infection-prevention protocols.
Members of staff or teachers above 58 years old who have had pre-existing conditions will be allowed to remotely perform their duties or use an open air space when performing their duties.
Through an Executive order effected from Sunday, the President announced that all school heads will have to maintain a register of all ailing students or teachers and inform the relevant county health department of all illness instances.
County health departmentrs have also been tasked with routine surveillance for covid19 including random testing of staff and students
