The Cabinet Secretary for education Professor George Magoha affirmed that the ministry is in shortage of one million face masks that were to be provided to children hailing from poor backgrounds ahead of the schools’ re-opening dates next week on Monday.
“Out of the three million children identified by the government, we have already supplied close to one million to Grade Four, Eight and Form Four candidates who reported to schools, while Rivatex has already given us another one million,” he revealed.https://googleads.g.doubleclick.net/pagead/ads?guci=2.2.0.0.2.2.0.0&client=ca-pub-6051233455380699&output=html&h=300&adk=3372357004&adf=3166663087&pi=t.aa~a.2067693828~i.3~rp.4&w=360&lmt=1609167503&num_ads=1&rafmt=1&armr=3&sem=mc&pwprc=6257656124&tp=site_kit&psa=1&ad_type=text_image&format=360×300&url=https%3A%2F%2Fberoonline.com%2Fshortage-of-masks-for-leaners-ahead-ofschools-re-opening-days%2F&flash=0&fwr=1&pra=3&rh=267&rw=320&rpe=1&resp_fmts=3&sfro=1&wgl=1&fa=27&adsid=ChAIgKGm_wUQp_ec4P6y0pZCEiYAfyysYbMMNre_vgsL3dd-UBn8m0P2Ip6Mo0UUkKsMbcxttbLSMg&uach=WyJBbmRyb2lkIiwiNy4wIiwiIiwiTW90byBHICg0KSIsIjg3LjAuNDI4MC4xMDEiLFtdXQ..&tt_state=W3siaXNzdWVyT3JpZ2luIjoiaHR0cHM6Ly9hZHNlcnZpY2UuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbSIsInN0YXRlIjowfSx7Imlzc3Vlck9yaWdpbiI6Imh0dHBzOi8vYXR0ZXN0YXRpb24uYW5kcm9pZC5jb20iLCJzdGF0ZSI6MH1d&dt=1609167503304&bpp=121&bdt=33773&idt=-M&shv=r20201203&cbv=r20190131&ptt=9&saldr=aa&abxe=1&cookie=ID%3Da16ce3dfdb26eeef-2291738679a600a0%3AT%3D1606196667%3ART%3D1606196667%3AS%3DALNI_MYztN5Q_uuOkVuUpBG7D98XH7wGRQ&prev_fmts=0x0&nras=2&correlator=7233457750770&frm=20&pv=1&ga_vid=904550920.1606196668&ga_sid=1609167502&ga_hid=488424592&ga_fc=0&u_tz=180&u_his=1&u_java=0&u_h=640&u_w=360&u_ah=640&u_aw=360&u_cd=24&u_nplug=0&u_nmime=0&adx=0&ady=866&biw=360&bih=512&scr_x=0&scr_y=0&eid=21066700%2C21066793%2C21068768%2C21069720%2C21066819%2C21066973&oid=3&pvsid=3401573416521391&pem=57&rx=0&eae=0&fc=1408&brdim=0%2C0%2C0%2C0%2C360%2C0%2C360%2C512%2C360%2C512&vis=1&rsz=%7C%7Cs%7C&abl=NS&fu=8320&bc=31&jar=2020-12-27-13&ifi=1&uci=a!1&btvi=1&fsb=1&xpc=rBhhEkNS9I&p=https%3A//beroonline.com&dtd=280

However, the CS called on parents who can afford to go ahead and purchase the masks for their children.
Further, Magoha asserted that the government would disburse Sh19 billion for the second term ahead of schools re-opening on Monday, Jnaury 4th.
“Together with my National Treasury colleague Ukur Yatani, we are in the process of disbursing over Sh14 billion to secondary schools and more than Sh4 billion to primary schools,” he said.
“We shall follow up to ensure the funds are used for the intended purpose,” he warned
