John Kiama, the Chief Officer of Kirinyaga Disaster Management Center says that they received a call at around 11pm about an adjacent business premises on fire.
“We took over five hours to put out the fire that engulfed the premises where we asked for reinforcement from fire fighters from our neighbour Murang’a County,” Kiama said.
Firefighters from both county government of Kirinyaga and Sagana residents struggled to contain the fire to prevent it from spreading.
