The Government of kenya in Relation with the ministry of defence has officially handed over all operation ran by Kenya Meat Commission (KMC) to the military.
This after Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya in a memo Tuesday directed Livestock Principal Secretary Harry Kimtai to “facilitate a seamless transfer of the Kenya Meat Commission to the Ministry of Defence.”
“Following the transfer of Ministerial Responsibility of the Kenya Meat Commission to the Ministry of Defence by H.E the President, you are directed to facilitate a seamless transfer of the Kenya Meat Commission to the Ministry of Defence,” reads the memo signed by Mr. Munya and copied to KMC boss James Ole Seriani.
The ducument below was posted by a user on Twitter:
“Ensure that you coordinate the entire exercise with the National Treasury and transfer the associated budgets at the next scheduled Supplementary Budget. You are required to submit a fortnight report my office on the progress made.”
The administration has been trying to privatize the battling Kenya Meat Commission (KMC) and sources cozy that the choice to move it to Defense was a vital one.
The state has been looking for exchange consultants for the privatization of the state run meat pressing organization in an offer to make it more serious.
