Nakuru Town East Member of Parliament David Gikaria was on Tuesday summoned by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in relation to high insecurity levels in the area.
Mr. Gikaria was interrogated by detectives on Tuesday morning at the Nakuru DCI offices over the recent spate of daytime killings witnessed in Nakuru.
He was also questioned on his alleged association with the dreaded criminal gang in Nakuru called ‘Confirm’.
Twenty-seven gang members who are thought to be a part the group responsible for the string of criminal activities in Nakuru have since been apprehended.
The group was detained on Saturday night in two separate operations, the DCI reported on Sunday.
Five people were detained in the first raid while 22 people were detained in the second operation.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i last week declared war against the gang said to be terrorising residents.
“There is this group called Confirm in Nakuru…we are ready for them, we shall camp in Nakuru,” said Matiang’i on Saturday.
