It is no longer a surprise when boarding a bus to find a random person standing in the middle of the journey and starting a sermon directed at the passengers.
Many passengers, however, do not appreciate the activity as some are trying to get some rest from a long day’s work, or have some peace before heading to work.
Other Nairobians complained that the preachers threaten and use expletives on them once they refuse to part with money. They said the preachers speak on the end times to scare the listeners, forcing them to give an offering to be ‘saved’.
Despite the fact that most Kenyans have grown to dislike matatu preaching, others have embraced saying it is a good approach of spreading the gospel among people.
