Police in Kwale county are looking for a man who attacked his estranged wife with a hammer and a knife on Wednesday night.
James Kimeu stabbed Caren Namubuya on the chest and hit her head severally with a hammer before fleeing leaving her unconscious in a pool of blood.
DCI director George Kinoti said Preliminary investigations indicate that the two had separated before Kimeu 35, invited Namubuya to his house in a bid to reconcile.
“However, Kimeu locked the main door with a padlock and turned on her with a kitchen knife and a hammer,” Kinoti said.
“The man who is a teacher at Menzamwenye primary school however managed to escape, and detectives have since launched a manhunt for him,” he said.
