Four suspected thugs have been arrested in Mlolongo in Machakos county during a sting operation.
They are suspected to have violently robbed two women of an assortment of properties in their Kitengela homes on October 16, 2022.
The items they had stolen were recovered.
A detective privy to the incident said that the recovered items were among others stolen in a robbery incident on the night of October 16, 2022 from homes of two women at Sifa Farm within Kitengela.
“The arrested robbers are still leading officers in areas of Nairobi region where they claim to have hidden stolen vehicles and other items stolen from the same township in four other previous robberies,” the officer said.
Police gave their names as James Ateka Onari aka ATES, 37, Fred Yohana Nyariero, 27, Michael Charles Onsarigo alias Mandevu, 29, and Rodgers Bisonga Angwata, 25.
They were flashed out of their hideout in Mlolongo town on Tuesday in an operation conducted by a contingent of police officers drawn from Athi River and Isinya subcounties.
Police said one TV set, four gas cylinders, several pairs of shoes, two duvets, two pairs of window curtains, one motor vehicle tyre of vehicle registration number KDG 995K Toyota Laxis were recovered.
Several wrist watches, clothing and two toy pistols and homemade pistols were also recovered from the suspects.
