Former Citizen TV news anchor Hussein Mohamed has joined Deputy President William Ruto’s campaign team.
In a public statement on Monday, January 24, the DP announced that Mohamed would head the communications in his campaign secretariat.
The announcement came after Ruto held a meeting with Members of Parliament allied to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) at his Karen residence.
“Hussein Mohammed, the renowned TV journalist, has been appointed Head of Communications in the William Ruto Presidential Campaign.
In 2019, the renowned journalist announced that he would end his career at Citizen TV after 10 years at the station.
After his exit from TV, the journalist who is also a communication consultant maintained a low profile and would occasionally comment on national issues through his official Twitter account.
Following his appointment, Mohammed joins the outgoing Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok who was appointed as the Director-General of Ruto’s 2022 campaign secretariat.
