Local businessman Jimi Wanjigi has been presented at the Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi after spending the night at Kamukunji Police Station.
Wanjigi is being charged with conspiracy to commit a felony and forgery of a title deed.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations recommended that the Ministry of Justice prosecute businessman Wanjigi and his wife Irene Nzisa for allegedly obtaining money by false pretence and conspiracy to defraud involving a Ksh.1.2 billion piece of land in Nairobi.
The detectives from the land fraud unit forwarded the inquiry file on the 10th of December 2021 to the DPP, recommending that Wanjigi and Nzisa be charged with obtaining Ksh.56 million from Kenroid Limited by falsely pretending they were in a position to sell it a piece of land along General Mathenge road in Westlands.
The DCI had launched investigations to establish the real owners of the land, which is claimed by three parties.
