Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has launched a campaign for presidential bid in 2022 elections.
Mutua, who is serving his second and last term as lead representative, says he will “reboot” the nation’s initiative as he tries to benefit from the open noise for youthful pioneers.
The 50-year-old lawmaker is probably going to go head to head with Deputy President William Ruto, Amani National Congress pioneer Musalia Mudavadi, Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula, every one of whom have communicated intension to challenge the administration.

Addressing the media on Sunday, Mutua said if elected President one of his priorities will be job creation, noting that he will create 5 million jobs in the first three years.
“This morning, millions of educated and hardworking youth woke up unemployed and broke and this evening they will go to bed still jobless and broke… As the President of Kenya, I will create 5 million jobs in the first three years,” said Mutua.
“The Kenyan Computer has frozen. Computer ya Kenya IMEHANG & Kenya needs a reset – a reboot. We need to start afresh. We need to change the way things are done & the way leaders serve. We need something new – a fresh start – a fresh movement,” said the Maendeleo Chap Chap Party leader.
Mutua said his experience and understanding of the dynamics of governance and development makes him better suited to be president.”I have agonised about the pain and the political circus going in our country. I have listened to the voices of Kenyans who have met me and prayed to God for a way to bring back hope,” Mutua said in Mavoko, Machakos County.”Kenya needs a young, dynamic, innovative but mature leader. A person who understands the system but is not a captive of the system.”He rallied the youth to support his presidential bid edged on job and wealth creation, asking that they stop being spectators as their lives were ruined.
